About

Jake Peterson (he/him) is a narrative therapist and community worker based in Melbourne, Victoria, living on the traditional lands of the Taungurung Peoples. He has worked as a community worker for over 15 years in Australia and the US across different communities, including within child protection and mental health contexts. Jake is currently leading a multidisciplinary team as the Manager of Rainbow Door at Switchboard. He believes in locating problems within social, cultural, and political realms—helping people construct preferred identities, rather than feeling defined by struggles.

In 2021, Jake completed a Master of Narrative Therapy and Community Work at The University of Melbourne.
